New Device Stimulates The Release Of Natural Painkillers, Reducing The Risk Of Opioid Addiction

It Is Controlled Via A Smartphone App

Chronic pain is usually treated by opioid painkillers. These can have serious side effects such as addiction. However, there are other ways to control pain. One of them consists of a device that stimulates the sensory nerves on the calf, sending pulses to the brain in order to release the body’s natural painkillers called enkephalins. The device attaches with a neoprene band in the ankle. It can treat several conditions, such as back pain, arthritic pain, and leg and foot pain. It can also communicate with a smartphone app via Bluetooth to regulate the intensity of the therapy. Click here for more info.
