Educating Chronic Back Pain Patients About Their Pain Increases Recovery

Educating Chronic Back Pain Patients About Their Pain Increases Recovery

The Patient Learns About What Movements He May Do, Gradually Increasing The Activity

Chronic back pain patients are usually treated with painkillers. However, there are cases in which the drugs have little or no effect, and the patient becomes fearful of making performing movements that can end up in pain. Research has shown that fear his can be overcome by treatment, in which the patient is educated about what movements and exercises he may do, and their frequency, increasing the activity gradually. In this way, the patient will start moving, which is the first step to recovery. In this way, patients are educated about their pain and feel reassured about it. The treatment has resulted in a 50% pain reduction by changing the patient’s belief about pain and decreasing its threat. More Information click here.
