The Cause Of Back Pain Is Not Sitting For An Excessive Time But Sitting The Incorrect Way

The Cause Of Back Pain Is Not Sitting For An Excessive Time But Sitting The Incorrect Way

The Pelvis Must Be Pushed Forward To Reduce The Stress On The Lower Spine

Sitting for an excessive time is one of the causes of back pain. There are alternatives such as standing desks, walking every 30 minutes, special chairs, but in some cases, the back pain does not go away. According to specialists, the problem is the way people sit, not the amount of time they sit. When people sit, their spine is usually in the form of a “C”. This causes excessive stress on the intervertebral disks of the lower back spine, leading to back pain. Many people have been taught as children to sit straight by pushing the chest forward, which is incorrect. Comparing with other cultural groups, which do not work sitting on a desk, specialists say that in many cases, they sat as many hours as office workers. The difference is how they sit. By pushing the pelvis backward, the “C” form of the spine turns into an “I”, relieving the stress in the lower back, and elongating the spine. To define the correct position, the idea is to imagine that humans have tails. Sitting in a “C” position would push the tail forward, while sitting in an “I” position extends the tail backward, allowing it to wag. Additional info click here.
