Study: Anti-Inflammatories Have Little Or No Effect On Back Pain Treatment
Researchers have found that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs [NSAIDs] such as ibuprofen, do not have an important effect on the treatment of back pain. Also, they had a side effect leading to gastrointestinal problems, like ulcers and bleeding. While these meds are effective for treating other types of pain, they have little effect on back pain.
